PARISH WEDDINGS

The Commonwealth Marriage Act requires that you give the celebrant a formal Notice of Intended Marriage at most eighteen months and not less than one month before the date of your marriage. This is done in a special form, which your celebrant will have.  Evidence of place and date of birth must be produced with this notice, i.e. birth certificate or passport if you were born overseas.

Church documentation consists of a Marriage Declaration form which, like the government form, is designed to identify you and establish your freedom to marry.  Catholics and non-catholic Christians are required to produce a Certificate of Baptism.  If one partner is not Catholic, the Catholic partner must formally apply to the local bishop for permission for a mixed marriage. The priest will assist you with this application.

Couples usually make their own arrangements about music, but our parish priest, who is celebrating your marriage, will be able to advise you on these matters.  The choice of music needs to be approved for suitable use in the church.  Organists set their own fees for playing at weddings.

Church fee: $750 (document processing, certificate, church use, etc.)
Celebrant:    $250

Weddings outside our Church:

Processing fee: $250 (document processing, certificate etc.)
Celebrant: $250

To reserve a date for your wedding in the church, we require you to pay a non-refundable booking fee of $300.00. Once this has been received, your requested date will be held for you. At this time, we must receive the Church fee (outlined above) – less the booking fee, paid in full. If we do not, the date you requested will be available for others to book.

Our regular Saturday night Mass is celebrated at 6.00 pm; as such, the latest time that weddings are celebrated on Saturday is 4.00 pm.
